Potomac’s newest sushi restaurant has arrived at Cabin John Village. Here’s a first look at Kema by Kenaki, now open in the old Zohra space on the front side of the mini-mall. This is the third venture for the brother-sister team of Ken and Aki Ballogdajan, who also own Kenaki in Kentlands and Ako in D.C. With a casual vibe and counter service instead of a full wait staff, Kema’s menu is slimmer than the one in Kentlands but also offers some brand new dishes. Among them are the taco-shaped hand rolls, filled with flavorful combinations like hamachi and green apple or seared house-cured salmon belly with pickled shallots. The menu also includes inventive crudos, Japanese-style fried chicken, pork belly buns, vegetarian dishes and cocktails. Kema is open for lunch and dinner.
