Normandie Farm, a landmark in Potomac since 1931, will go dark at the end of June when owner Cary Prokos hangs up his chef’s hat. But the closing actually marks a new beginning for this historic restaurant: Taking over the lease is H2 Collective, a family-run business that operates a dozen D.C.-area restaurants, bars and lounges. At the helm are brothers Eric and Ian Hilton, whose portfolio includes the Eighteenth Street Lounge in D.C., Chez Billy Sud in Georgetown, and a beer and wine garden outside the Kennedy Center. In fact, there’s been talk that Normandie Farm might get a beer and wine garden of its own — but Prokos says he’s not quite sure what the plan is going to be. After 39 years working at the restaurant, he says, it’s a relief to let someone else make those decisions. “I do know that these new owners are going to invest a lot of money,” Prokos tells Store Reporter. “They’ll make sure that Normandie Farm goes on for many years to come.”

Will Normandie Farm reopen in 2024? Before the closing I sang there regularly in Marjerie’s Lounge with Tom Saputo on the piano. I really miss going there! Do you know if the new owners will have live music and open mic? Thanks.
