Two weeks after the opening of Vietnamese eatery Ba Le Sandwiches, Rockville’s Ritchie Center has welcomed another new restaurant right next door. This time it’s Darband Kabob, serving a broad menu of traditional Persian dishes from stews and grilled meats to sweets like baklava, syrup fritters, and saffron-and-rosewater ice cream. This space has seen its share of turnover in recent years, including another kabob shop (with different owners) and a Korean chicken place. But the future looks brighter for Darband, which is already drawing crowds.
