AMP, the intimate performance space programmed by the Strathmore arts center, will close its doors June 30th at Pike & Rose. The space is being taken over by Joola, the ping pong/pickleball manufacturer that’s relocating its headquarters from Gaithersburg to Pike & Rose. Although Joola plans to open a ground-floor retail store just off Rockville Pike, Store Reporter has learned that the AMP space will be closed to the public and used for shooting corporate videos and hosting private events. AMP, which sits above the iPic movie theater and City Perch restaurant, has been home to concerts, educational gatherings and private parties since it opened 2015. Strathmore will continue to schedule events there until the end of June.
