2 the 9s, the teen formalwear store that closed last May at Westfield Montgomery mall, has reopened with a new set of husband-and-wife owners: Meron Girma, who previously worked at the Vinci store next door, and Elvis Waterman, who recently retired from Regal Cinemas. The duo say they are taking the store in a new direction — starting with clothes in larger sizes. “When we got here, the dresses were pretty much just zero to six,” Waterman says. “Customers want more options. So now we go up to size 14.” Homecoming season is the store’s main focus right now, he says, “but in the next few months we’ll be adding more casual wear, sportswear, sneakers — and some things for men.”
